Police in Derbyshire have released a CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak to following a fatal collision involving an electric bicycle in Pleasley.
Mother of one, Alana Armstrong, tragically lost her life in the incident that took place on Tuesday evening in Pleasley village.
She was a passenger on the electric bicycle when it was struck by a dark-colored 4×4, believed to be a Land Rover Discovery, according to police.
Armstrong was declared dead at the scene, while the cyclist, a man in his twenties, sustained serious injuries and had a leg amputated below the knee.
A CCTV image has been released of a woman police believe may have vital information regarding the case.
The woman was captured on camera outside The White Swan pub in Meden Sq., Pleasley, shortly before 8 p.m.
The police, who have launched a murder investigation, stated that the collision occurred at around 8 p.m. on Batley Lane in the same village, located on the border of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
A 4×4 was seen following two electric bicycles before colliding with one of them and driving away without stopping.
Chief Superintendent Dave Kirby of Derbyshire Police described Armstrong as a nearby resident in Tibshelf and a mother to a six-year-old child.
Unfortunately, her child and family will never have the chance to see her again, hug her, spend Christmas together, or celebrate milestones.
The police disclosed the route taken by the vehicle through the village, revealing that the Land Rover Discovery had pursued the bicycles before the collision.
Appeals for information have been made by Ch Sup Kirby, stating that two individuals were in the vehicle during the incident.
Despite two arrests in connection with the case, both suspects have been released without charges.
